CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Aug. 30, 2017) – City of Charlotte offices will close Monday, Sept. 4, in observance of the Labor Day holiday.
Solid Waste Services collection will operate on a normal schedule. Carts need to be placed curbside by 6:30 a.m. on collection day. Please allow hot charcoal to cool before bagging and placing in a rollout cart. Sept. 3-9 is an orange recycling week.
Outside regular business hours, CharMeck 311 callers can report water, sewer, stormwater and animal issues via an automated service that dispatches assistance. Many service requests can be made online, 24/7 here. Please call 911 for any emergencies.
On Labor Day, Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) LYNX Blue Line, CityLYNX Gold Line and bus services will operate on a Sunday schedule.
The annual Charlotte Labor Day Parade will take place Monday, beginning at 11 a.m. at North Tryon Street and 11th Street. The parade will follow the standard parade route down Tryon Street, ending at Third Street. Staging for the parade will close Tryon Street, between Ninth Street and 11th Street, and the cross streets between Church Street and College Street from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

CATS customers wishing to board buses within the affected area should do so at the Charlotte Transportation Center, 303 E. Trade St.
