City of Charlotte digital strategy

The City of Charlotte is currently developing a strategy to provide accessible and essential digital services to the community. Throughout the development process, public input will be needed to help determine the applications and digital services which are needed.

Whether it’s a mobile app to report graffiti or to schedule bulky item pick-up, your input is critical in shaping the City of Charlotte’s digital landscape. Share your input with the city through MySidewalk.

Knight Cities Challenge

In 2014, the Knight Foundation solicited innovations from citizens across 26 Knight Communities that would make their communities more vibrant places to work and play. 32 civic innovators were chosen to share funds that would make their projects come to life. In Charlotte, four projects were chosen. We're proud to share that three of those innovators were City of Charlotte employees.

Bringing together diverse neighborhoods by creating a new space that uses light, sound and play to stimulate conversation.

Challenging municipal workers to take 10 minutes each week to connect with a city resident and report on their thoughts and ideas.

Fostering conversation among strangers by installing Charlotte’s signature porch swings in public spaces.
