Carpooler Parking Space

Carpooler Parking Space

At the Huntersville Gateway Park and Ride, Charlotte Area Transit System has installed a designated parking space for carpoolers in an effort to encourage multimodal alternative commuting options.

The carpool parking space will be designated for carpool riders and drivers. In order to park in the carpool space, you must have at least two total individuals arriving in the vehicle. Violators will be asked to move their car.

The space reflects CATS Transportation Demand Management (TDM) efforts with the goal to encourage commuters in the North Mecklenburg corridor to carpool together and use multimodal alternative commuting methods. The TDM program helps ease the stress of the daily commuter, so they can sit back and relax instead of dealing with the headaches of traffic and additional costs of gas and car maintenance. The new space encourages the community to look at environmentally-friendly commuting options that not only produce cleaner air, but decrease congestion.

The Huntersville Gateway Park and Ride is located at 10300 Compass Street, Huntersville, NC 28078 off of exit 23 in Huntersville. It is currently served by CATS local and express bus services, and features security cameras, bike amenities, and 310 parking spaces.

Don't have a neighbor who rides with you? No problem! Register at Way2Go CLT and find a carpooler near you!
