Pay or Appeal your Parking CitationPark It Payment Application Changing

You will be directed to a secure third party vendor hosted website. 

  • You will need your ticket number, the state in which your vehicle is registered, and your vehicle's license plate number to make a payment.

  • Payments are accepted by Visa, MasterCard, Discover and PayPal. Pay or Appeal Parking Citation

  • A detailed receipt will be emailed when a valid email address is supplied .

  • A $3.50 per ticket service charge will be assessed for tickets paid on this website.

  • Currently the City of Charlotte, NC  requires all outstanding tickets associated with this vehicle be paid to use this payment method.

 

Parking Citation Payment Options

Online - Payments will be accepted through a secure server, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through Parking Ticket Payment

By Phone - Payments can be made through Parking Ticket Payment's automated phone system by calling 1-855-256-5750. A $3.50 per ticket service charge will be assessed for tickets paid using the automated phone system, and all outstanding tickets must be paid.

By Mail - Please enclose the citation and a personal check, money order or cashier's check (Do Not Send Cash) for the penalty amount indicated on the front of the citation. Make checks payable to the "City of Charlotte." Mail payments to:

Walk In - Payments are accepted at the Park It! office, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Drop Box - Payments can be deposited in the city's drop-box locations, 24 hours a day, seven days a week:

  1. Government Center, 600 E. Fourth Street, at the front entrance circle.
  2. Government Center, at the handicap entrance off 200 South Davidson Street.

Please make all checks payable to the City of Charlotte. Do Not Send Cash.  MasterCard & Visa are accepted.

Parking Citation Appeal Process

 
 
As a matter of policy, the Park It! program does not accept the following as grounds for appeal:
  • Lack of knowledge of the city's parking regulations.
  • Conflicts or tardiness going to or returning from appointments.
  • Inability to find a valid parking space.
  • Failure to have appropriate, sufficient amount of coins or alternate payment methods.

The Park It! Onstreet Parking program has an administrative appeal process for individuals who believe their parking citation was issued in error. The appeals process was authorized by the Charlotte City Council.

The administrative appeal process includes three levels of appeal:

  1. Administrative Review

  2. Administrative Hearing

  3. Appeal through the Superior Court of Mecklenburg County

All vehicles parked in metered parking spaces are required to pay the meter or pay station for the corresponding time the vehicle occupies the space.
This requirement also applies to City, County and other Government fleet vehicles, unless otherwise permitted.

All CDOT-issued Right of Way Use permits must be displayed on the dashboard.

  • Most streets have peak rush-hour parking restrictions from 7a.m. - 9 a.m. and/or 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. Vehicles will be towed if parked on restricted streets during the peak rush-hour period.

  • Streets may be temporarily closed with No Parking signs, usually bright orange and/or meter or pay station bags.

  • These streets will be strictly enforced with ticketing and towing.

  • Most Center City onstreet spaces allow a maximum of 2-hour parking.

  • Rates for most spaces in Center City are $1 per hour.

  • Parking at Center City metered spaces is free nights and weekends. However, read all nearby signage, as temporary restrictions can occur at anytime, and temporary signage is strictly enforced.

  • All vehicles parked in metered parking spaces are required to pay the meter or pay station for the corresponding time the vehicle occupies the space. This requirement also applies to City, County and other Government fleet vehicles, unless otherwise permitted.
