Scaleybark Road traffic calming

​​​​​​​​​Pavement milling of Scaleybark Road from Woodlawn Road to South Boulevard, and including the intersection with Woodlawn Road, is complete. Resurfacing  is underway and will be completed by December 9, 2016. Permanent thermoplastic pavement markings may be installed this year if temperatures and weather permit. Otherwise, temporary markings will be installed this year and permanent markings will be installed in the spring of 2017. The pavement markings will include bike lanes, buffer areas and on-street parking in designated areas.​​​​

 

 Project updates

​This transportation project will provide traffic calming features to Scaleybark Road between Conway Avenue and East Woodlawn Road. It will also change the westbound approach to the Scaleybark leg of the Woodlawn Road intersection. 

  • ​To provide roadway features to reduce speed along Scaleybark Road

  • To modify the Scaleybark leg of the intersection with Woodlawn

  • To complete a sidewalk gap between Belrose​​ Lane and the Charlotte Korean Presbyterian Church

  • To maintain bicycle lanes in both directions

Area residents participated in a four-day charrette process in 2011, led by the design consultant AECOM.

​​​Please note this is the funding amount and includes all costs associated with the project such as planning and design, acquiring the right of way, utility relocation, consultant fees, construction, signalization, permits and landscaping.
