 Project updates

​This transportation project will extend Pete Brown Road from its dead end to Fox Point Drive and comprises two phases: 

Phase 1 (complete) extends the existing road to Fox Point Drive providing a second entrance and exit for the Oakbrooke Neighborhood. 

Phase 2 (underway) ​will extend existing improvements for Pete Brown out to NC 115, with arm gates athe crossing of the Norfolk Southern rail line.   

  • To improve the safety of the rail crossing and improve the safety and efficiency of the intersection

  • To provide a second entrance and exit for the Oakbrooke Neighborhood at an existing median opening, which will allow left-in and left-out access

  • To improve response​ time for Charlotte Fire

  • To improve connectivity within neighborhood

  • To add a signal at the intersection of NC 115 and Pete Brown 

Neighborhood meetings have been attended over the life of this project to update nearby residents, businesses and other stakeholders
