 Project updates

This project is a continuation of Oakdale Road farm-to-market improvements phase 1. Phase 2 will run along Oakdale Road from Dale Avenue to Pleasant Grove Road.

This project will identify roadway infrastructure needs and deficiencies, recommend improvements that accommodate all modes of transportation and develop a project design concept that supports existing and proposed land uses.

Proposed improvements include bicycle lanes, sidewalks, planting strips, landscaping, curb & gutter, storm drainage infrastructure, parallel parking, medians, traffic signals and sidewalks.

The goal of this project is to make improvements to better serve the community and all roadway users, including residents, businesses, motorists, pedestrians, bicyclists, transit users and commuters.

Extensive community engagement and outreach took place in connection with the Sunset/Beatties Ford Road CNIP planning process. For details, visit the Sunset/Beatties Ford Road CNIP page.

For this specific project, public meetings will occur throughout the planning phase to introduce residents to the project and get their feedback. All upcoming public meetings for this project will be posted in the "project updates" section of this pages, as well as on the Citywide Projects Portal and on the Citywide Events Calendar

The Community Investment Plan approved by City Council in 2013 calls for voters to consider approval of funding for a number of infrastructure programs. Voters approved bond financing in 2014 and 2016 and will vote on further bond financing in 2018 and 2020. For this project, if voters approve funding, City staff engages the community to determine the details of what will ultimately be built. Once these details are known, the cost of the project is estimated and published. Learn more about the Community Investment Plan at http://charlottefuture.com
