Myers Park Water Pipe Relocation Project

 Project updates

  • Start in March and may be complete by end of June
  • Crews will start at Lorene and Colony roads (March through the end of July)
  • Abandoning more than 8,000 feet of pipe due to age (some from 1930s)
  • 2 hydrants will be replaced
  • Crews will dig in the street to install a new pipe in most streets.
  • Customers on Roswell and Colony will be moved to an existing pipe under street so construction activity will be limited to replacing service lines.
  • Replacement on Pender completed.

Completed - Roswell Avenue, Normandy Road, Lorene Avenue and Colony Road

August - October - Picardy Place, Winding Wood Lane, intersection of Roswell Avenue at Queens Road West, finalize project and restore area

​​​Areas near construction will be notified before construction. There will be planned water outages to move customer’s service. Property owners will be notified in advance. If there is an unplanned water outage, crews will work to fix it immediately.

Charlotte Water is community-owned providing safe drinking water and cleaning our community's wastewater. Reinvesting in our system is possible solely​ through funds from water and wastewater bills.
