 Project updates

​This transportation bond project will wide​​n Beatties Ford Road from two lanes to four lanes and will include turning lanes, street connections, planted median, bicycle lanes, sidewalk, planting strips and lighting. The project limits are approximately two miles from Capps Hill Mine Road to Pauline Lane, north of Sunset Road. The project will also add a traffic signal to the intersection with Capps Hill Mine Road.

  • To install sidewalks and planting strips for overall neighborhood enhancement

​​City staff worked with Atkins PBS&J consulting firm and completed the planning phase for the improvements to Beatties Ford Road. These plans were based on safety, cost, benefits, traffic analysis and an extensive public involvement process that allowed citizens and nearby businesses to provide input.​

Funding for design, real estate acquisition and construction was included in the 2010 transportation bonds.​
