Farmers Market Study
Project Overview. The City is exploring how to create a stronger public market system, enhance food entrepreneurship and access, and support farming in our community.
Project Goals. The goal is to develop a recommendation for a Charlotte market system that supports farmers, entrepreneurship, and healthy food access while building community and place throughout Charlotte and the region.
On December 7, 2016 a focus group meeting was held to help inform the path forward. Participants consisted of representatives from government agencies, non-profits, food access & security advocates, market managers, local farms, restaurants, distributors and food entrepreneurs. A summary of the stakeholder meeting will be made available on this webpage as soon as it is available.
