Let's Band Together

Neighborhood organizations can apply for up to $3,000 to assist with tree banding in their community, including trees located on private properties, to help control the cankerworm population and protect Charlotte's tree canopy. There is no income eligibility to receive a Tree Banding Neighborhood Matching Grant.

Applications are accepted 1x per year. The next Tree Banding grant application cycle will occur in the summer of 2016. Tree banding projects can run concurrently with other open Neighborhood Matching Grant projects.

Required pre-application workshop:

  • Neighborhoods interested in participating in the Tree Banding Program must attend a pre-application workshop.
  • Contact Denise Coleman at drcoleman@charlottenc.gov to learn more about participating in the program.
