Housing Our Heroes

Citizens

​I am a citizen and I want to help a Veteran in the Housing our Heroes Campaign. We need household items for the Veteran and Veteran Family such as:

  • Twin, Double, Queen size bedding (sheets, blankets, comforter, pillows, pillowcases)

  • Dishes (plates, bowl, cup, glass, etc.)

  • Cooking items (pots, pans, cookie sheet)

  • Utensils (fork, spoon, spatula, can opener, scissors)

  • Air-tight containers, Tupperware, Ziploc bags

  • Trash can w/ trash bags

  • Towels

  • Shower curtain and rings

  • Coffee pot

  • Toaster

  • Laundry basket, detergent, iron, ironing board

  • Clock or alarm clock

  • Paper goods (paper towels, toilet paper, napkins)

  • Cleaning items

  • Broom, dustpan

  • Mop, bucket

  • Sponge, cleaning cloths

  • Cleaning solutions, bleach, Pine-Sol, Comet, Window cleaner

  • Wal-Mart or grocery store gift cards.

If you can donate any of these items please contact Pete Heuberger at 704 –371-3001 x. 136 or donate@crisisassistance.org. Items can be dropped off Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. You do not need to call, you can simply drop the items off at 500 A. Spratt Street.

Financial donations

We need discretionary funding for rental inspections and application fees for the Veteran or Veteran Family. It costs approximately $110 for application and inspection fees per person. If you would like to make a donation, please make checks payable to Charlotte Bridge Home.

We are also asking citizens to help us spread the word about Charlotte Mecklenburg ‘Housing Our Heroes.’ We need everyone to share this information to help us build support for this initiative. We are embracing this challenge with the goal of ending homelessness for all of our citizens, including our veterans. Please don’t underestimate the impact you will make on our community by supporting this cause.
