Our mission is to make a lasting impression on youth that will continue to yield a lifetime of positive results, ultimately, strengthening our local neighborhoods and workforce.

And with the help of local neighborhoods, business and our partners, we're able to sharpen Charlotte's future--one child at a time.


Charlotte Career Discovery Day
The CCDD is a highly engaging event that will feature a variety of interactive industry zones designed to expose 4,000 youth to emerging careers in a variety of sectors.

Mayor's Youth Employment Program
Works with local businesses and the community to provide teens with exposure to various job industries as well as career-oriented internships and training.


Mayor's Mentoring Alliance
Connects Charlotte mentoring agencies, promotes mentoring best practices through workshops and resources, promotes standards to ensure caring and supportive mentor-mentee relationships, and celebrates mentoring through an annual mentoring awards program.

Out of School Time
Provides funding to organizations that deliver quality out-of-school services to children in high-need neighborhoods.

​TechCharlotte is an initiative aiming to provide 16-24 year olds with technology experiences, industry education and application, and career pathways. ​

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Youth Council
Helps local teens take and active and leadership role in learning how to solve challenges in Charlotte and Mecklenburg County.

Career Readiness Training Certification

Provides teens with an essential skills training certification that prepares and strengthens our community's workforce.​
