Mayor Dan Clodfelter welcomed the second annual Cryptolina 2015 Bitcoin Expo to Charlotte today at the Historic McGlohon Theater at Spirit Square in Uptown.

The annual expo features discussions and debates on events and issues with a variety of different items including Bitcoin, other digital currencies, start-ups, venture capital investments, and much more. Attendees from different digital currency companies among others have the opportunity to connect with other industry leaders and share ideas.

“Our history as one of the Financial Services Hubs of the world is well documented and established and more than ever,” Mayor Clodfelter said, “many around our community are embracing that our city’s continued prosperity depends on the successes of entrepreneurs and creative ventures. Technology and innovation are driving our economies in unprecedented ways.”

“Our region has thousands in the financial services industry,” Clodfelter explained, “giving us the competitive advantage in knowledge, talent and connections. When you couple that with Charlotte’s amazing quality of life, it’s a win-win for everyone involved – and we anticipate that our stronghold as a FinTech capital will only get better with time.”
