FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 3, 2015
"We are pleased to learn that funding for the CityLYNX Gold Line is included in the President’s FY2016 recommended budget,” said Charlotte Mayor Dan Clodfelter. “We know the project will be a catalyst for economic development and connect citizens to resources including employment centers, higher education, medical facilities as well as arts and entertainment venues. This reinforces the 2030 Transit Plan the City Council has adopted and moves our community forward in developing a truly multimodal transit system intersecting across the city and county.”
Note: President Obama’s recommended FY2016 Federal Budget includes $75 million for Phase 2 of the CityLYNX Gold Line which represents one-half of the project’s budget. The President’s recommended budget now goes to Congress for review and consideration. It is anticipated that the final FY2016 Federal Budget will be approved in the fall of 2015.
